WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE TABLE?

Before I launched ART2TABLE ST. BARTH a year ago, I found myself constantly pondering the question “What do I bring to the table.” Growing up in a large Southern family, the table held great significance in my life. It was a place where we gathered, shared meals, and created lasting memories. My mother, a master of entertaining, taught me the art of being a gracious host from a young age.

As I reflected on the considerable amount of time we spend around the table, it became clear to me that it presented an opportunity for more than just food and conversation. It served as a canvas for our own unique form of artistic expression. Just as artists bring their creativity to a blank canvas, I believe that each person has the ability to bring their own art to the table, infusing it with their individuality, style, and personal touch.

Whether it's thoughtfully plated dishes, beautifully arranged centerpieces, or engaging conversation that sparks inspiration, we all contribute our own creativity and artistry to create a truly memorable and meaningful experience at the table. It is through the power of our own creative expression that we can enrich the moments we share and leave a lasting impression on those around us.

In my case, I bring my expertise in the luxury wedding and events industry, along with my inherent love of entertaining, to inspire more people to experience the joy of gathering around an artfully designed table. Having worked at 583 Park Avenue, where I organized multiple events in a single day, I witnessed firsthand the power of bringing people together. These occasions not only served as milestones and celebrations but also provided an opportunity to unite individuals from various walks of life.

My upbringing, steeped in the values of togetherness, family, and friendship, instilled in me a deep desire to continue fostering connections in an imaginative and artistic manner. Life, in itself, is a cause for celebration, and what better way to celebrate than around an artfully designed table? By infusing creativity and artistry into these gatherings, I aim to elevate them beyond mere social events and transform them into extraordinary moments that reflect the beauty and diversity of life.

My ultimate goal is to inspire others to embrace their own creativity and find joy in the act of gathering around a table. When we come together with our loved ones, family, and friends, we have the power to create lasting memories and strengthen the bonds that connect us. I firmly believe that each of us brings something valuable to the table. We all possess our own distinct art, which can manifest in different forms. It could be a particular skill, a talent, a passion, or a perspective that sets us apart.

To better understand what you bring to the table, here is a guide to help you navigate and reflect upon your unique contributions. Whether you're seeking personal clarity or preparing for an interview, this guide can serve as a reminder to think about and embrace your individual strengths.

Take a moment to contemplate the following questions:

1. What are your passions and interests? Consider the activities and subjects that truly ignite your enthusiasm. These passions often reflect your unique creative spirit.

2. What skills do you possess? Identify the areas where you excel and the talents that come naturally to you. These skills can be both technical and interpersonal, showcasing your ability to contribute in various ways.

3. What perspectives and experiences do you bring? Consider the unique lens through which you view the world. Your experiences, background, and values shape your perspective and provide a fresh and valuable outlook on situations.

4. What do others appreciate about you? Seek feedback from friends, family, and colleagues to gain insights into the qualities they admire in you. Their perspectives can shed light on the strengths you may not fully recognize in yourself.

By exploring these questions, you can gain a deeper understanding of what you bring to the table. Embracing your own art and creativity allows you to contribute in meaningful ways and make a lasting impact to those around you.

Remember, acknowledging and valuing your unique contributions is essential not only for personal growth but also for fostering connections with others. We all have something remarkable to offer, and it's important to celebrate and share our individual art at the table of life.

In closing, a table is not just a piece of furniture; it is a symbol of connection, celebration, and artistic expression. We all have something unique to bring to the table, whether it's our passions, skills, perspectives, or the ability to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. By acknowledging and embracing our individual art, we can make a meaningful impact and create truly unforgettable experiences.

So, the next time you gather around the table, ask yourself: What do you bring to the table?
